[IRCA] TP DX 10/2
Not bad. Early on it sounded really promising, but just before LSR, it
kind of fizzled, then at the break of daylight it peaked up. A mix of
everything this morning, KK, CC,JJ, Russian, Filipino, Thai, and even a
couple Aussies tossed in. Found a loud DYAB 1512 Cebu City with M/F in
Tagalog, mentions of ABS/CBN at 1405. But the interesting freq of the
morning was 765. JOJF on top a lot of the time, then underneath at 1410
a station playing "I Can't Stop Loving you" by Ray Charles, ended and a
man in Tagalog, no ID, but suspect the Cebu City outlet with DYAB-1512
so loud, then that faded down leaving a woman in what sounded like Thai.
A check of 891, found Radio Thailand on top, but not // at 1415. Two
stations are listed, a 20 KW with a s/off at 1400 (If correct?), and a 5
KW Military station that is listed at 5 KW and 24 hours. My track
record with the smaller Thai stations in QSLing is not too great, Radio
Thailand does good with QSLs, though. Too bad it isn't one of theirs.
It peaked rather nicely a couple of times, so maybe a tentative report
to them. But what an interesting frequency. For a while it was one Asian
after another changing position on 765.
With mornings like this, it is putting the spark back in to DXing for
me. Another nice thing is after LSR, most of the pesky IBOC is gone as
CA is in daylight.
