[IRCA] TP for 4 Feb from Victoria, BC
An odd morning; erratic signal levels and a couple of mysteries; first impression was that it wasn't as good as yesterday overall, and better on the low band. The propagation monitor said that signals were better overnight overall than when approaching sunrise. Listened from 1430 to 1500 and 1525 to 1545.
pretty darn good audio (at least briefly):
828 JOBB
972 HLCA at 1531UT
reasonable audio at times during the period (though often battling w/splash or noise):
594 JOAK
648 presumably Russia at 1452
774 JOUB (still in at 1540UT s/off)
1566 HLAZ best at 1531UT
not so reasonable audio, occasional words in splash or noise:
279 R. Rossii at 1450UT
558 mystery at 1448UT, best on W. Flag, so may have been DU; later on, it seemed Asiatic again
603 two signals at 1532UT; one seemed to be KK talk and //558, the other wasn't //NHK1 or CNR1
567 JOIK //594 at 1452UT
747 JOIB
774 something behind JOUB at 1445UT, suspect it was DU, as was best on west Flag
Burbles in the splatter and noise:
576 Asiatic signal at 1454, but very murky
738 strange hum on channel, about 37Hz with two higher harmonics per Spectran, mx underneath; seemed Asian
873 JOGB //828 at 1446UT
981 seemed //5030, so CNR-1
1044 briefly at 1532UT
1143 pop mx briefly at 1537UT
Strongish het, no audio (either undermodulated or ravaged by splatter): most noticeable: 792 DU, 1098 DU, 1134
