Those ALA loops are superb for what they are. Wellbrook makes great
products. I sincerely recommend the Wellbrook Phased Array of two of them to
anyone with a decent sized lot..150 ft.
re: 747...I seriously need to nab them here in IL this season. I can
terminate a BOG about 310 ft long right at them and tune the termination for
low band and then add a phase wire to make sure WSB is GONE.

These are definitely worthwhile targets in the east during these quiet
conditions, Bill. 160m amateurs in the northeast are working Japanese
contacts, for example. And, while working on Cape Cod last month, I also
noted the 747 carrier in the presunrise period after the Europeans were in
daylight. This was using an ALA100 with a 16m circumference loop, so as
you say, a better antenna might have brought something out.
