Gee, I'm sorry that so many others found conditions still pretty
poor.... I dunno where I'm getting the DX, but it is darn sure back
here on Orcas.
Yesterday, I had 30 audios on the bottom half, today it had just
increased to 33, but the levels were much better. Well more than half
of them were up in the 8 range, quite good copy. The top half of the
band was much improved, with 18 in audio, far more than yesterday's
paltry 5. I did a first run up the dial at 1255 (LSR 1440) and found
quite a few things doing well.. the JJs were back (yesterday favored
China, even early). My main time was in the half hour before dawn and
then I stuck around for 20 minutes more, since the post-dawn was
especially interesting.
At dawn, I did have one paltry DU, on 612. Everything else was
Asian. Some interesting Chinese channels after dawn included: 621,
675, 738, 774, 918 CNR2 with Echoes, 963 CRI RR was HUGE at 1450, 945
CNR1 with Echoes late.
The most interesting thing was on the 945 CNR1 channel early at 1300.
I heard two sets of time pips, a weaker one leading the CNR1 pips and
fanfare by about 7 seconds. I can't imagine who it was, but the
pattern and number of pips was the same for both. I guess that it
could be that both sets were on CNR1due to some sort of technical
difficulty, but the first set was quite a bit weaker..... hummmm....
Sure hope things improve for you guys soon.... smug on Orcas :>)
