[IRCA] Puyallup, WA TP's for 9-27
Hello Guys,
It was obvious by 1325 that this morning's propagation was not going to
provide any new TP loggings here, although there were enough powerhouses
with moderate audio (594, 747, 774 and 972) and one oddball (657-NK) to allow
competitive testing of a modified E100 with only a 7.5" Slider loopstick
against an E100 with the "total package" (7.5" Slider + Murata CFJ455K5 IF filter),
which has logged 42 TP's here. The results were interesting to say the
least, and made a rather dull DX morning something quite useful.
One of the fringe benefits of fanatical tinkering is that you have
alternative ways to get your thrills, even when the band clams up completely.
Experimental breakthroughs are immune to solar doldrums :>)
73, Gary
