Well, my two cents..

WBZ could have to be highly directional or 500KW would go right out to water
and cover foreign countries that they don't care about.

I think one 50KW non directional full time AM in the central part of each
time zone would be cool. But again, thats just wishful thinking on my part,
lol.

The comment "would make good 500KW stations based upon program format and
location" strikes me. What makes it a good program/format? WJES is playing
"some crappy" music. What makes it crappy? Who's the judge?

I don't think, in the end, having a few 500KW statiions would solve any real
problems. The power bills would be bigger.. and could a 500KW no 750 in
Atlanta sell advertising in Tulsa or Chicago? No, I doubt it. In this day
and age, a 500KW station in the US would serve no one except the DX'er.
