I took my DX-440 and the twin ferrite antenna with me to Great Britain
& France 3 years ago.  It was in luggage that was checked in.  No problems. On the return
trip from France during a lay-over at Midway airport in Chicago, I had it in a
carry on and a TSA lady took it out and looked it and told me that it should have
be checked in.  She let me keep it in the carry on.
