Nick, I don't have too much to contribute today, but can add that there were plenty of hets on the car radio while we were waiting to get on the Port Hardy to Prince Rupert ferry at 5:00 am local.  828 and 972, for example, comes to mind immediately.  I'd say that I heard at least 6 hets without even trying, so I assumed that conditions were pretty decent, especially towards Asia.  Hopefully I'll be up and running in a couple of days!......Walt.
