Re: [IRCA] "Hot-Rodded" DT-200VX Digital ULR is a Reality

Hello John,

Thanks for your comments on the "mega-transplants." These wickedly
juiced-up analog and digital ULR's can already perform at a sensitivity level
equal to (or possibly exceeding) the E1 or ICF-2010, but of course they will
never compete in SSB, synchronous detection, etc.

The DT-200VX was very carefully chosen as a transplant candidate
because of its 19 AM memories, high resistance to urban RF issues, and decent stock
performance (as fully detailed in the 2007 Shootout on dxer.ca). When you
combine these excellent features with ICF-2010-level sensitivity, you can do
some SERIOUS DXing on an ocean beach, or anywhere you choose to carry your 7
ounce (total weight) digital dynamo. The age of total DXing freedom has
arrived!

Thanks also to Kevin Gilbert, who originally recommended the DT-200VX
for the 2007 Shootout.

            73, Gary
