KOHI used to have a "Good" C&W local sound. Not canned. When Forrie
Smith owned it, the station was local. Forrie worked on the air there
for years. I think he still has or had? a program recently. He sold the
station (Volcano Broadcasting) as he was burned out. Forrie is probably
50ish now. But canned talk from a "nothing" network will not bring in
the listeners. It was always a fight to keep listeners anyway, being so
close to Portland.  That was the big advantage of being local. Without
that, then why even listen to KOHI, when Portland stations are 25 miles
away? But of course is is less expensive to run canned stuff.
