[IRCA] Recording Ultralights

Guy Atkins reported a failure (generated interference) recording the
output of an Ultralight using his otherwise very nice MP3
player/recorder, the iRiver X20. Recording has become such an
important dimension of our hobby over the last twenty years or so
that I'm a bit concerned. Guy, did you try a long patch cord and a
ferrite choke on the cord???

I also wonder about using a long patch cord to a laptop, probably
with a ferrite choke. Personally, I'd like to start using Ultralights
in GY DXing with timed TOH recording. Solving the "battery problem"
with an ultralight is fairly easy. Solving the interference problem
may not be.

HAS ANYONE BESIDE GUY TRIED TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM YET???
