[IRCA] What a morning! TPs

I was up a bit early this morning and TP DX seemed a bit decent, but
nothing exciting peaked until after 1600.
 
1503    PHILIPPINES, Davao City, DYAB, very good with apparent news at
1616 UTC with man in Tagalog, several mentions of "ABS-CBN". Peaking at
S7+. Not new, but surprised to hear in January, especially so strong.

t1548    SRI LANKA, DW with man in accented EE at 1620, 1/2. At first I
was going to go by without stopping thinking it was only 4QD, but I
stuck around because of the accent, as it was not the Aussie accent. Was
in EE. The more I listened the more I could hear occasional words in
German, then after 1630, the program sounded all in German. Not bad in
peaking at S8 or better. I am going to send a CD to DW as I got a fair
amount of programming, I tried to check SW //'s but no dice, ot one
could be heard. That is not uncommon as SW propagated differently that
MW,  but I am sure tickled with this one, being a tentative new country
for 2008.. Heard with both SW EWE and WNW EWE phased giving me the
Northwest lobe. Was audible only in that position.   (PM-OR)

Lots of other usual stuff was in like VOA-1575, HLAZ-1566, and a fair
number of Chinese on 918, 936, 945, 963, 981, etc.  But a good morning,
especially for  
January.
