I made up a choke with around 18 turns of RG-58 on a very large FT-290-75
core.  Made no difference at all.  Added grounds, nada.  My next work will
be to fine-tune the CAT5 balanced wire.  I think that has the greatest
potential short of some sort of solid outer conductor coax.  Were it a fixed
installation, I certainly would use that.  Wouldn't work for a temporary
setup..

I have no trouble with the 40m spacing.  I usually set antennas up at a 150
foot distance or more.  Once I get caught up from the vacation, I'll work on
things.  I really think the phased loops have a huge potential, maybe more
so that a BOG.  Just a matter of chasing out the dratted ingress of signals.
