And you can do the same with Total Recorder too. Plus you can set
automatic split times or file sizes, which is very handy, when you want
to check only the best times as  TOH, :04, :20, :30, :40, :55 and so on.
The software makes smaller files with timestamps in filenames, so it's
really easy to pick only these times you really like to check.

Exactly. With current HD sizes there is no need for a specific buffer. I
have RecAll Pro always on, I have just set a file limit of 100 MB, which
is more than 10 hours and in the end you just decide whether to delete
the file or to go back to check something.
