Patrick,
N series callsigns DO get used by the sea services, but not to the
exclusion of hams, as we all know.
A little known fact: Aircraft registration IDs come from the same
series as do radio callsigns.
E.G:
G-XXX Great Britain
N-XXX USA
HK-XXX Korea
JA-XXX Japan
DV-XXX Philippines*
HJ-XXX Colombia
* I don't think RP assigns ANY radio callsigns beginning in "DV."
