KAZ you may recall that I work for the 1510 in Colorado (KCKK). It's
interesting that you are hearing us that well. Our primary protection is
to KGA and WLAC and we really shouldn't be sending much power to the
east and west. Our night pattern is directed just slightly NE and SW
from true north-south. We are still running reduced power under the
STA/CP with 19 kw at night and are awaiting the installation of detuning
wires by the local power authority on a group of high tension towers
located very close to the east side of the array. Several of them are
located in the right poisition that they could be creating an unwanted
lobe in your direction. We have been getting reception reports from
Scandinavia. So I'm sure we are sending plenty of power to the north.
It'll be interesting to see if your reception of us changes after the
detuning is done and the final pattern adjustments are completed. When
the pattern proofs are successfully completed the CP also calls for our
night power to increase to 25 kw.
BTW, I produced a live baseball game on Tuesday evening and a live
sports talk program on Wednesday evening on this station. Those were
both done under the logo of Mile High Sports Radio which is the group
that is attempting to buy or LMA the station. But for now we are still
primarily running Real Country by satellite from ABC.
