This is a sad day actually. Historically, KGA touted its 50 kw signal 
and its wide coverage area. They bragged about having a reliable signal 
at night within 300 miles and many listeners beyond.  Back in the late 
'60's when they were a rock and roll station for about a year, they 
intentionally targeted listeners throughout the west coast and had 
regular listeners as far away as Southern California (including San 
Diego if my memory serves me.
