Actually, it draws something like 300 watts at 120 VAC. And it
does produce some heat. Single phase.

I run mine at 100 VAC (via an autotransformer) to lengthen the life
of the components (especially tubes). This also makes it run much cooler.
The set suffers no loss in sensitivity

I don't turn it on from a cold start. Instead , I "ramp" the autotransformer
up to 60 VAC for about 15 sec., then 90 VAC for 15 sec., then 100 VAC

I haven't retubed it in 15 years, except for one of the 26Z5 B+ regulators.

Yes, I believe EAC has a captive corporation of Hammarlund.
