Re: [IRCA] R8B help. VOA-1180 Okinawa

Dan, Dennis and Charlie-san,

I was on Okinawa at reversion - 15 May 1977, but I think that VOA at
Okuma had already shut down. Visited the FEBC studios on board
Makiminato during their "going off the air" sale - all kinds of neat
little things to buy, but did I buy anything? Nooooooo. DUMB! Somewhere
in my vast collection of junk, I have a tape or cassette of the final
s/off announcement of FEBC.

While visiting the VOA Thailand transmitter site, I seem to recall
being told that the Okinawa transmitter was sent to the Philippines.
I'll have to dig around for my notes and see what I wrote down. If
nothing else, I have a picture of the door that goes nowhere.

Very 73 de Mike....who is now looking for his Geritol and remainder
of his fleeing brain cells
