Scott,
I never meant we shouldn't discuss certain subjects. Not at all. IBOC,
stations being off, etc are all relative to our hobby. I must admit that
I have been guilty of negative comments on IBOC. But I never point them
to a certain station. It is the stations business if they buy IBOC or
not. It is not ours. They have a business to run like any business. They
decide on what might make a profit for their company. I do feel that
some engineers do read our postings. Infact I know of a couple that are
not on the IRCA list that have read my postings elsewhere. I am sure
some station personal are not DXer friendly. That has always been the
case. I remember getting a QSL from a station in AZ back in 1965. The GM
stated that the station has a policy not to reply to DX reports, but
since mine was the first from the 49th state, he did reply. A couple
years later when I heard them again, after moving back to Oregon, I
reverified the station and got a very friendly letter from the new CE.
So things change. I have seen that over and over again. But it concerns
me when people do threaten or badmouth the hand that feeds us. Some of
our postings do get read elsewhere. There are a fair number of CEs that
are also DXers. Some are still active on MW & SW and of course many are
Hams.
