Re: [IRCA] Michael Savage and big bands

Bob-
I got to meet Count Basie and set and talk him in 1974. His band did a
concert at the college I went to in Dallas, and after the concert everyone
had a chance to meet and talk. He was truly a great man. In 1974 he was
getting old and had to be helped on to the stage, but he could still play
the piano.

Also got to meet Benny Goodman and his quartet in 1976. Living in Dallas, TX
was great, as compared to here in 'no-where's ville.' But I wouldn't go back
to Dallas for love nor money.
