The MW550P is a great unit. I love mine. Even with the filtering in the
R8, it still helps with selectivity, especially if I don't want to use a
narrow bandwidth. 
   The only African I have heard & only QSL'd is Algeria 891. I never
have heard any others. Why, I have no idea. I have heard & QSL'd quite a
few Europeans over the years though. Africa from here is tough. 
   KPAM is very poor here at night, and it takes the Eastern beverage to
generally hear them period. CFPR pretty much owns the channel. I kind of
hoped they would be off on the good opening to the North, as I wanted to
hear CHAK from OR. It was common in AK in the 60s.
No luck as yet.  Great going again on CFPR.
