It might have been a morning for strange and unusual DX, such as from
the Philippines, but none was heard here. But who would generate a
big hum on 1476? And there were actually audio traces on 1548
(likely Australia, very unusual here in recent years), yet several,
apparently Asian, carriers on that channel, literally blinking on
and off with propagation. Carriers on the extended band, 1611,
1629, 1638, 1665 and 1701, not strong, but first appearances in a long time.
Overall strength was seriously down from yesterday, not much in the
way of consistent audio from anywhere except the big guns. Maybe
there was a peak earlier than 1500UT?
best wishes,
Nick
