[IRCA] KVIP 540 kHz Coverage map

Pat,

Your right, KVIP is on 540 kHz. When I first heard them on 01-14-67 their power was listed as 5 kw daytime. The power listing came out of the"Whites Radio Log". Just checked the 1969 edition of WRTH and power was listed as 1 kw D1. I sent them a reception report on a later date and got back a coverage map. The map was made by Hammett & Edison consulting engineers of San Francisco in 1958. The 0.5 mv/m signal gets down to Woodland. KVIP .01 mv/m signal makes it just North of Santa Rosa. Power or the frequency was not listed on the coverage map, just K-VIP radio, Redding, California. They were owned by Shasta Broadcasting Corporation. This was the coverage map that they showed their advertisers.
