Bob, although a relative newcomer to phasers, since I've started using Steve Ratzlaff's Misek phaser, I have not noticed any overloading whatsoever, despite having numerous powerful Vancouver and Pacific North-West stations in the vicinity plus 2 of our own locals.  I've heard the overloading problem with the Quantum from several others in the past...........Walt.
