WLW did run 50kw or more, by 1937. BUT, WLW did not start off as 50kw
station.
The question stated "....from the original license from the FCC." WLW
original ticket was issued by FRC, not the FCC.

In fact WLW was the first radio station in the U.S. to run 100,000 (or more)
watts as granted by the FCC. They had reduced their power down to 50kw by
1941.

I have an very old book, Radio Receivers, printed by Radio Digest and @1924.
It shows WLW on a frequency of 710 at 5,000 watts.

WLW I don't believe was the first 50 kw station. But not sure.
