My comments are about re-location of ALL AM daytime stations and AM stations with LESS than 1 KW day and Night. It is about making the existing AM band better and to re-fuel the existing AM band -- so that it might provide a true local as well as regional radio service. ---- It is NOT in away way about HDTV -- other than to tell you HOW HDTV came about and why. It was NOT to give TV viewers a better picture. --- That said lets stay on the topic --- A new band for existing AM stations --. A new FM band. If all AM stations had at least 1 KW day and night -- could they or would they provide better local service. By giving the big owners a reason to move the remaining low powered AM stations to a new FM band -- will that not allow the remaining stations to cover more area and provide better AM service ?? By moving 20 percent of the existing AM stations to a new FM band -- will it not open up room for other new fulltime AM stations to serve other new
un-served areas or towns. How would you improve the existing AM Band ?????
