Grab a parallel from 5030 kHz for CNR, Doug; that way you don't have
to wait for the top of the hour. On the hour they have 5 long "time
pips" or tones, followed by one more at a higher pitch, and usually
the phrase "zhongyang renmin guangbo dientai" by somebody or another.

If you're hearing Japan, it would be NHK2, so you could look for a
parallel on 774 or 828; if it's Korea....you might try 3930 kHz for
a parallel, but often that's not as good as something on MW....

The beauty of this is that anything that can be identified on that
frequency is great DX!

best wishes,

Nick
