I made an adapter so a client could record normal level audio into a laptop
mic input. It was pretty simple to make. I used a small audio transformer,
a small 5 or 10k pot, a couple of resistors, and the appropriate box and
connectors. Essentially I dropped the level by maybe 40db - adjustable -
and did a ballpark adjustment of the impedence.
