[IRCA] WOR Tower site not demolished

At the last second - police stop WOR from demolishing its three old
towers along the New Jersey turnpike.
Their reason? Security concerns. The 700-foot towers in Lyndhurst were
scheduled for destruction today as the final part of the New York AM's
relocation to a new transmitter site, just a few hundred yards North of
the one it's used since 1967 (says our sister Radio Journal). Developers
want the old Meadowlands site as part of a new golf course project.
