Dan,
One thing came to mind. Now, if a station has coverage of 30-50 miles on
IBOC, if even that. The protection that the station has to give being
directional and power requirements may not be an issue in the future. So
the AM stations left in the US (Considering if IBOC befores a reality),
none will have to be directional any longer as protection will no longer
be an issue. Plus running no more than 10% of your analog power is also
a factor.
