broadcasting mostly in Arabic in Montreal on 1450 kHz, 1kW, ND

Ethnic AM radio station in Montréal

The application for a 5.8 kW daytimer on 650 (ND-D) was denied.
They had proposed 100 hours of local programming per week - pretty
tough for a daytimer! I note however in the Industry Canada database
an allocation for 2.5 kW at night on 650 - perhaps they were planning
to operate at night as well. A moot point as the application was denied.
Religious AM radio station in Montréal
The Commission denies an application for a broadcasting
licence to operate a French-language religious AM radio
station in Montréal.
The Commission received an application by André Joly,
on behalf of a not-for-profit corporation to be incorporated,
for a broadcasting licence to operate a French-language
commercial religious AM radio programming undertaking in
Montréal at 650 kHz with a transmitter power of 5,800 watts daytime.
