Nick,
I have two EWE's now. One is the SW EWE and the other I added this Fall,
the WNW one, but neither really are aimed at Europe. The WNW one does
well for Alaskans though. The beverage is aimed at 75 degrees, so it
really is not aimed at Europe either. The vertical seems to have that
lobe to the NE too. But it doesn't do as well on MW for TAs. I find it
works very well for the LW TA's. . I was quite surprised how well the
TAs come in on it. France was not bad on 162 tonight, but I did notice
as I dropped below 200 khz, the gain went down.
On the ALA100, would I have to point the loop towards Europe like a
convential box loop? My trees aren't exactly where I want them aimed at
TAs either. I do have another piece of RG6 buried in the ground I have
not used as yet, so maybe a ALA100 loop for antenna number 5.
Thanks.
73,
Patrick
