Make sure that none of the auto functions are merged into the factory radio.
Newer cars have various beeps and boops and warnings routed through.

If you can find one on eBay, the Blaupunkt Bremen MP74 and San Francisco
CD72 are very good radios.  I have one of each.   Or, that JVC KD-SHX900 HD
Radio was a pretty good tuner, with the IBOC stuff in it as well.  I got
mine off eBay for $375, IIRC.

All are DIN 1 size and included the sleeve for installation.
