Thanks for the relies all.  Right now, I am DXing off a 300' longwire pointed northeast.  My loops are not ready (having a wee bit of trouble hooking up the variable capacitors correctly) and no phaser in my future!

 

My XYL is from Nova Scotia so we go up there once a year or so, our next trip scheduled for June (our 10th wedding anniversary).  Last year, my Grundig YB400 did a good job at Newfoundland MW bandscanning- I logged about 9 or 10 Newfie MW stations, including CBT on 540 and one or two other CBCs- I'd have to double check my log.  So I do know how CBC and Canadian stations "sound", from a lot of on-the-spot DXing.  :)  I'm hoping against hope in June to dig out a Iceland or Greenlander on MW- that's a tough ticket.

 

Last night was a good night to- got my first Oklahoma station last night, on 740 under CHWO running Dr. Laura.
