I sometimes suspected KBRT [nee WEVE] of causing that hum. But then I also 
thought it might be coming from WI.

I have lived in this same house since 1970, and that hum has been there the 
whole time.  I thought maybe it was something in this house or nearby.  But 
then I heard it in the parking lot at Walmart in Duluth.  Its strength is 
variable.  Sometimes quite strong.  Other times nearly inaudible.
