It's amazing how that can happen Mark, and when listening on split
frequencies, the problem is even worse. If you are DXing, presumably
you want to hear something, and many of our brains are quite capable
of providing that.
Yesterday morning, TP DX was pretty much wiped out, but there was
plenty of "near imaginary" audio, or maybe it was just plain
imaginary. At best, it can sometimes be paralleled up with another
signal, with the "near imaginary" in one ear, and the network
parallel in the other, but it's amazing the number of times I've had
to conclude that it was all a misconception
