There was more this morning than met the ear initially, but it really was
like a blanket was muffling out the DX; the range hadn't changed, still
lots of Chinese, but there were only sporadic outbursts of signal strength.
pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at
least briefly):
774 JOUB man in Portuguese? 1353UT
828 JOBB Chinese lessons 1339UT
972 HLCA man in Korean better on north Flag 1345UT
1566 HLAZ woman in Japanaese 1329UT
Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it understandable by
a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):
567 JOIK woman and man in Japanese //594 1344UT
594 JOAK various times, but not the strength it has been
747 JOIB woman in Portuguese? 1351UT
1206 Yanbian woman in Korean, man agreeing 1339UT
1287 JOHR man in Japanese 1352UT
not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or noise
could be understood by a native speaker:
603 HLSA woman in Korean no parallel 1335UT
693 JOAB Chinese lessons //828 1337UT
963 CRI female vocal //1323 1352UT
1098 CNR1 man talking //1593 1341UT
1143 male ballad 1355UT, possibly Taiwan Fisheries
1179 man in Chinese 1350UT
1323 CRI rock music //963 1351UT
Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be guessed at
by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in talk or music)
576 2NR pips and ABC fanfare 1400UT
603 CRI chimes and fanfare 1400UT; Dongfang seems unlikely, but only one
listed
612 4QR woman talking //702 1353UT
657 operatic chorus 1349UT, N. Korea?
666 JOBK woman talking //594 1331UT
702 2BL woman talking //612 1353UT
738 male vocal, not //612 1337UT (Taiwan?)
918 two stations, both men mumbling, 1356UT one had tiny Chinese pips at
1400UT
945 CNR1 woman talking //1098 1348UT
954 man talking, Japanese intonation 1359UT
1017 music and talk 1344-5UT better on north Flag; CRI?
1593 CNR1 man //1098 1337UT
Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or
ravaged by splatter)
855 864 891 1017 1035 1116 1134 1224 1242 1251 1359 1575 seemed to be
Asian;
594 756 1116 1503 seemed to be DU
best wishes,
Nick
