Re: [IRCA] Puyallup, WA Ultralight TP's for 3-23

Hi Nick,

<<< Count your blessings Gary. The "boost to the big guns" here mostly
involved them becoming audible. The idea of 1134 peaking to anything
beyond a grumble in Victoria is strictly for those few mornings when
dozens of Asians are audible, >>>

Actually, except for about 5 peak minutes around 1345 the big guns followed the Victoria script here, as well. The only healthy sounding Asians were 594 and 693, but they fizzled pretty quickly. Their rise from nothing up to S7 levels within about 10 minutes was pretty unusual, though. 1134 is one of the big gun Japanese frequencies here (far enough away from CKWX to escape most of its splatter).

<<< Is 1377 a tough frequency for you? The one (very) bright spot here
this morning was the likely return of RRI Pro 1 from Toli Toli on
that channel, during the pre-sunrise boost. I'll need to check the
files a little more carefully, but almost certain that the vocal
music that was heard matched the webstream through Streema. (every
year, I have to race around to find a working stream for that
station, which seems to only be heard in the couple of weeks around 1 April) >>>

Yes, I remember your reception of that station in March of 2016-- and my reception of a 1377 station at Grayland shortly thereafter on April 1st (which wasn't parallel to either CNR1 or NHK2). Unfortunately my recording had little more than exotic-sounding music. 1377 previously was a pretty noisy frequency in Puyallup, with 1380-KRKO throwing splatter all over the area. It seems quieter now, and maybe worth some detailed checks for anything exotic.
