Poor conditions this morning with only a couple with audio except for
1566 HLAZ which rose to good levels several times. Lots of low and mid
band hets but not quite to audio levels. No expanded band hets today.
1098 het poor today. And the "mystery station" of 1566 is all cleared up
thanks to help of Gary DeBock, Chris Kadlec and Colin Newell. No mystery
at all, just HLAZ playing various programs being broadcast in Japanese
to Japan, along with the occasional fadeup of the Chinese Yanbian
station wih its "soft jamming" to try to keep HLAZ from being received
in China.
594 Japan with pips and chime at 1300 TOH, no other audio heard, very poor
747 Japan very poor 1236 utc
774 Japan very poor 1250 utc
972 S Korea very poor 1228 utc
1566 S Korea very poor/poor 1232 utc; poor /weak at 1310 and 1318 utc,
good for sync det lock briefly. HLAZ had a woman talking, then another
station faded up with man talking, mixing with HLAZ, presumed the
Chinese Yanbian station at 1320 utc. Eventually HLAZ was once again in
the clear with the Chinese station gone. HLAZ was still audible at 1330 utc.
