And while they weren't exclusively DX-listener oriented (sections on scanning, ham, & CB too), Popular Electronics' annual "Communications Handbook" was a favorite of mine, in part because you could find articles on various aspects of the DX hobby by none other than Glenn Hauser, Richard E. Wood, and/or Harry Helms (in addition to the slightly less interesting Hank Bennett). They're extraordinarily hard to find too, much scarcer than old copies of "Communications World." Dave Gleason only seems to have one issue scanned on his website.
