[IRCA] TP 11 Mar Victoria version
Definitely more than met the ear today. After 1400UT, several
channels had at least two stations on them, most weak, lots of
carriers, many that turned out to have bits of audio if one listened
to them long enough. Oddly, the big guns didn't often deliver big
audio. Would have been a fairly dynamite morning on the coast
pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker,
at least briefly):
747 JOIB piano music 1425UT, managed some music box at lower level 1543UT
774 JOUB man in Japanese mentioning "Eigo" (English) 1300UT,
unsurprisingly just before English lessons; faded up one last time
1540UT with "JOUB NHK dai ni hoso" (I think) and into anthem, fading
down for music box.
972 HLCA man in Korean briefly at this level 1507UT; still delivering
some audio at 1601UT
Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it
understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):
567 JOIK man in Japanese 1346UT
594 JOAK various times, probably stronger than this at peaks, just
didn't catch them.
828 JOBB man and woman in Japanese 1504UT, managed some music box at
lower level 1543UT
873 JOGB woman in Japanese 1412UT
not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or
noise could be understood by a native speaker:
702 NHK2 man and woman in Japanese 1349UT
891 JOHK man in Japanese //594 1402UT
963 CRI assumed, man in Russian 1407UT
1242 JOLF two men in Japanese 1532UT; final audio 1613UT
1503 JOUK woman in Japanese //594 1412UT
1566 HLAZ man in Chinese 1445UT
Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be
guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in
talk or music)
531 JOQG woman talking //594 1420UT; faint but a quiet channel
558 HLQH woman talking 1422UT //603; earlier was accompanied by a
Japanese sounding woman
585 JOPG woman talking //594 1421UT
603 HLSA woman talking 1422UT,but at 1411UT had been at least two
station, one with slow music, another with talk, not //558
639 CNR1 definte pips on hour and intonation correct for woman giving
Beijing time check 1400UT
711 two stations quiet woman talking, also man sounding Chinese 1406UT
738 female pop music 1355UT, woman talking, Chinese inflection; Taiwan?
954 man talking, Japanese inflection 1430UT
1053 woman talking, maybe Japanese, 1344UT, big carrier
1152 NHK2 woma talking //774 1418UT
1188 JOKP woman talking //594 1515UT
1206 man talking then organ music; not sure if same station 1418UT
1287 man talking Japaese inflection 1430UT
Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or
ravaged by splatter)
819 846 864 909 918 945 981 1035 1044 1089 1134 1179 1278 1323
1386 1593 seemed to be Asian; 1098 1116 likely DU?
best wishes,
Nick
