[IRCA] Puyallup, WA Ultralight TP's for 10-24

Asian signals rebounded quite a bit from yesterday's clunker session here as a generous sunrise enhancement after 1400 boosted up several second-tier TP's along with the usual Japanese and Korean big guns. 657-Pyongyang was again the star performer as daylight increased, with very good signals in and out during its female vocal music program.

The band was fairly subdued in the predawn darkness at my 1330 start time but improved dramatically around 1355, with the NHK big guns on 594, 693 and 747 and the Koreans on 972 and 1053 all reaching very good levels. Around 1350 the usual second-tier Asians 603-HLSA, 657-Pyongyang and 738-BEL2 also came out of the noise, along with weak Chinese on 756 and a fair-level 1044-CRI. The second-tier Asians stayed fairly weak until around 1407, when the wacky 657-Pyongyang once again went on another romp with its female vocal music, hitting very good levels during peaks. 603-HLSA improved to a fair level after 1400, while 738-BEL2 managed some fair to good peaks after the KCBS fade out. The Chinese stations on 756 and 1044 slowly sank into the noise without ever amounting to much, though, and with the exception of 657-Pyongyang's brief romp the session was fairly ordinary. Best signals were from 747-JOIB and 972-HLCA, both hitting S9 levels around 1405.
