[IRCA] TP 6 Oct Victoria version
Almost completely DU this morning, and not too exciting at that.
pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker,
at least briefly):
not quite; 612 came pretty close
Reasonable audio at times during the period (much of it
understandable by a native speaker, though often battling w/splash or noise):
612 4QR rock music 1408UT //702 and lagging by about a second
702 2BL rock music 1408UT
738 2NR teletalk 1414UT //702 and 612
1116 4BC presumed; woman on phone talking to man, DU English, 1335UT,
briefly at this level
not so reasonable audio, occasional words or phrases in splash or
noise could be understood by a native speaker:
576 2RN ABC news mention by man 1405UT followed by jazz 1405UT
774 3LO 1423UT was mostly JOUB, but this came up with teletalk //612 1424UT
774 JOUB generally battling with 3LO but mostly after 1400UT. Odd to
have the Asians fading in late, usually the reverse
891 teletalk 1418UT, assumed 5AN
Burbles in the splatter and noise (if lucky, language might be
guessed at by cadence of talk, or parallel established by changes in
talk or music)
531 pop music very weak 1333UT, and other times.
567 RNZ National, 1307UT noted //756 which was weaker.
603 man talking, islandish sound to it 1345UT, no 765 though
675 2CO teletalk 1346UT //612
684 2KP teletalk //621 1421UT
747 JOIB distinctive English speaking woman's swooping tones, no
parallel needed, 1413UT, better on north Flag too. 774 mostly 3LO just now
855 4QO/4QB man mumbling //702 1339UT, seemed to be //702....
1143 woman talking, Chinese inflection? 1401UT Unfortunately, Taiwan
Fisheries website with its fine archive is down just now, hope not permanently
Strongish het, no or "near imaginary" audio (either undermodulated or
ravaged by splatter) lots of near audio here
549 585 792 828 837 846 882 936 1098 1287
best wishes,
Nick
