[IRCA] Alberta TPs for 4 October 2016

The season of surprises continues. After a dud of a morning yesterday, today brought a huge rebound. Once again the DUs ruled, but this time the Australians dominated early, with New Zealand taking over after about 1300. 


549	2CR	Orange, AUSTRALIA	ABC news fanfare at 1300
567 RNZ National Wellington, NEW ZEALAND time pips at 1300, and then a few bits of the news that followed 

576	2RN	Sydney, AUSTRALIA	time pips and ABC news fanfare at 1100.
612 4QR Brisbane, AUSTRALIA Missing at the hour, but fair with ABC news by 1203. 

657	Star	Wellington/Tauranga, NEW ZEALAND   EZL music at 1324.

702	2BL	Sydney, AUSTRALIA	Man talking at 1251 //738

729	5RN	Adelaide, AUSTRALIA	Peaked at 1315 with music.
738 2NR Grafton, AUSTRALIA ABC news fanfare at 1200. Heard Tahiti audio last night but not this morning.
737 unID At 1325 the ABC was still there, but a second station playing music was about even with them. Possibly Magic from NZ?
756 RNZ National Auckland, NEW ZEALAND time pips, then news by woman at 1100. 

774	3LO	Melbourne, AUSTRALIA	Time pips, ABC news at 1200 by a man.
792 4RN Brisbane, AUSTRALIA First heard poorly at 1100 with pips and news fanfare. Fair with ABC news at 1203.
819 RNZ National Tauranga, NEW ZEALAND Just like 567, with time pips at 1300, and bits of the news that followed.
828 3GI Sale, AUSTRALIA Strongest of the Australians at 1100 with time pips, fanfare and news by man. 

846	2RN	Canberra, AUSTRALIA	Time pips, ABC news fanfare at 1300.

855	4QO/4QB     Time pips, ABC news fanfare at 1300. 	

882	Star	Auckland, NEW ZEALAND	Vocal by a man at 1324, //657.
891 5AN Adelaide, AUSTRALIA Not that good this morning considering the good conditions, but had a peak around 1315 with interview. 

936	unID		Reached audio briefly with slow song by a woman at 1326

981	unID		Man talking at 1128.  Pretty certain it was // 1116.

1026	Newstalk ZB	NEW ZEALAND	Talk program, //1035 at 1325
1035 Newstalk ZB Wellington, NEW ZEALAND Commercial for a holiday tour company at 1324.
1053 Newstalk ZB New Plymouth, NEW ZEALAND Host talking to a female caller at 1330, //1035. New one for me.
1098 Newstalk ZB Christchurch, NEW ZEALAND Talk by a man. Briefly stronger than // 1035 at 1316. New, after a few tentative logs.
1116 4BC Brisbane, AUSTRALIA Weak earlier, but had come up with talk about politics at 1122. 

1188	unID		Very weak, with music at 1314.
1233 2NC Newcastle, AUSTRALIA time pips and ABC news fanfare at 1100. First definite log of this one here. 

1251	unID		Traces of music at 1230
1296 Newstalk ZB Hamilton, NEW ZEALAND After being a solid carrier for much of the morning finally had some audio at 1316, with two men conversing. // 1035. Another new one. A second decent carrier on 1296.02 never quite made audio.
1386 Radio Tarana Auckland, NEW ZEALAND Very weak, with talk by man at 1101. Stronger at 1314 with south Asian music, and even good at 1330 with woman in presumed Hindi. 

1458	unID		Came up for a couple of minutes with EZL music at 1209.

1494	unID		Traces of music at 1316

1503	unID		Weak, with man and woman speaking alternately at 1204.
A great morning for Newstalk ZB! No luck on 1044 though. Possibly traces on 1008, but Calgary on 1010 makes that very tough.
