Congratulations on your reception of 560-KMON for the new 47th state of Montana. That's a pretty impressive reception-- even if you needed to use your Elad FDM-S2 SDR to do it! (just kidding) 

Actually the real masters of mixing Ultralight and SDR-DXing are the Japanese, who switch from one style to the other as if it was second nature. Both Hiroo Nakagawa and Satoshi Miyauchi (famous Japanese SDR-DXers) carried their hot-rodded PL-380's around like side arms, during our Rockwork 4 ocean cliff DXpedition in July. They could teach quite a few North Americans how to appreciate both styles of DXing.

Well, The Great Conditions continue âHere is my Report for the last 2 Days with 11 NEW Stations heard and after 40 years of DXing I have finally logged MONTANA for NEW STATE # 47 Heard! This morning at Sunrise we had an amazing Opening to the WEST as these logs will attest. The DX Conditions have been so good this early in the year, I can hardly wait for the Real DX Season to kick in!! Lots of Lower Powered stations still being heard as wellâââ..Thanks to Tim Tromp of Michigan for the tip on the Trans-Atlantic 1215 Absolute Radio from England, heard this eveningââ.
