[IRCA] September 23rd 2016 - TP report - quieter but interesting - Victoria B.C. Canada

*I'd hazard a guess that signals on the west coast of North America were
down a touch today - Good sunrise enhancement and a couple*

*of small surprises and oddities.*

*Youtube Reel - <goog_2009315312>*https://youtu.be/XY6aFEoctNk

*529 Khz* 1255Z Alaska Aero weather - at really good levels (I need to
start checking for one of the other Alaska voice beacons...)

*531 Khz* 1302Z UNID - with some domestic buzz on here, getting anything is
a struggle - still, heard some murmurs.

*558 Khz* 1256Z UNID - occasional peaks with some music and talk - could
not establish parallel with anything

*567 Khz* 1258Z NHK1 JOIK Hokkaido network programming- at times fair â if
anything, a tad softer than yesterday

*594 Khz* 1300Z NHK1 JOAK Tokyo - solid // to 567 with network programming
- all morning long but weaker than yesterday will the occasional deep dive

*603 Khz* 1303Z KBS2 Seoul - Happy FM (t) Korean pops - actually better
than yesterday - with clear and crisp talk

*657 Khz* 1304Z DPRK (t) Occasional words and martial music in the mud -
way down from yesterday.

*666 Khz* 1305Z NHK1 JOBK Osaka // 567 and 594 fair to good at times

*675 khz* 1307Z UNID - Good signal / low modulation - could only guess at
language... so I won't

*756 Khz* 1309Z UNID - mucky jumble of signals here

*828 Khz* 1312Z NHK2 - JOBB - Osaka - One of the more steady signals of the
morning - very good on peaks

*864 Khz* 1317Z UNID - 837, 846, 855 and 864 are my top teasers when
conditions are good. One often hears content at threshold or in a muddy mix
and little intelligence.

*873 Khz* 1318Z NHK2 - JOAB - Kumamoto - // to 774 JOUB Akita - about the
same as yesterday

*891 Khz* 1340Z UNID - really good signal around the LSR rush but often in
music or mumbling commentary

*945 Khz* 1337Z UNID - somewhere mid-way on the YouTube reel a good snippet
of what this sounds like - in the 950 Khz splash

*954 Khz* 1337Z TBS JOKR Tokyo (t) Fair to good at times today - caught it
square in the LSR boost

*963 Khz* 1337Z CRI China (600kw) - Russian again - same as yesterday -
this is a regular now - often at impressive levels

*972 Khz* 1338Z KBS Korea HLCA - *Best of band this morning* I think -
featured on YouTube reel.

*1017 Khz* 1316Z - CNR - China - Korean programming â

*1044 Khz* 1316Z - CRI - China - Japanese (pretty sure) International
programming â

*1053 Khz* 13XXZ - Korea S. - Jammers - Not quite its bullish self this
morning - but always in S7 to S9+

*1098 Khz* 1318Z - UNID - CNR (likely) very, very animated CC YL/OM
commentators with bouncy Chinese opera style programming

*1179 Khz* 1331Z - UNID - Operatic style content -- on the YouTube reel -
at quite good levels

*1188 Khz* 1331Z - UNID - on the YouTube reel - at quite good levels with
musical content

*1116 Khz* 1339Z - *UNID* - Pretty clear "Chinese" sounding dialect for
around 4 minutes

*1242 Khz* 1340Z - JOLF (t) Tokyo - pretty much always there - one of the
two "1200 to 1300" anchors

*1287 Khz* 1342Z - JOHR (t) Hokkaido - the other anchor in this 100 Khz
spread

*1323 Khz* 1307Z - HUGE! Open carrier (I should have checked for CRI
parallels but didn't...) This was reported this AM from Washington state.

*1503 Khz* 1331Z - JOUK - Akita (T) pretty solid // to 594 Khz

*1566 Khz* 13--Z - HLAZ - Korea - some great signals on the YouTube reel
this morning and once again, no sign of jamming or naughtiness.

*1575 Khz* 1331Z - VOA Thailand - crystal clear Lao at times - reliable as
gravity and the #1 pick for Thailand on the west coast - no surprise with
1000 Kw
