Re: [IRCA] Verifications

As I said when I rejoined, there is a bigger disconnect between the reality of radio and the aspirations of DXers than I could perceive in the past.

We really need the full Commission to spend time debating whether stations should confirm the very few DX reports they receive.

Folks, verification has always been voluntary. In the past, stations had an interest in out/of/metro reception, but that interest is almost zero today and DX reports are seldom understood and often interpreted as kooky or an imposition. It behooves us to be nicer, not more aggressive, towards radio stations if we want to get veries in the future.

Bert,

I think the FCC should require all licensed radio stations to keep QSL cards on hand to handle the high number of reception reports, no matter how few are received.
