In my personal experience with AF outboard
and IF inboard DSP, it is over rated. At times it can peak a signal above
the noise but the audio sounds tinny and rings, which makes intelligibility for
copying ID's poor.
Also DSP works best on lightning QRN and
works least on short and long pulse man made noise.
DSP is no replacement for a good
noise blanker.
