That may be technically true, but the effect is the same as if it were
deliberate.

I certainly don't want to throw any gasoline on the fire and I have given up
'personal attacks' for Lent, however this IS a subject very close the hearts
of many DXers so I feel justified, as this is a radio forum, to comment.

I think it is a very relevant subject and as free citizens I think it is
important to keep the heat on an issue as long as there is a possibility of
victory, and from what I read, the jury is still out on IBOC. While some may
be tired of the comments (I know one list moderator said that one negative
comment on IBOC was enough and that they should not be repeated) others not
technically inclined may get tired of endless posts about contours and other
esoteric engineering terminology. That's fine. I go through my hundred
messages a day and if I find two or three that I can learn from, then I feel
OK.

I heard not long ago from a Northeastern broadcasting engineer who said in a
private email, "get over it. IBOC is here to stay. If you don't like it, get
another hobby". I thought that was pretty uncool, but I'll get over it and
keep doing what I can to point out that "The Emperor has no clothes".

I also agree with previous posts that the real problem with radio is
programming content. Maybe we will win and maybe we won't, but the radio
hobbyist did not invent IBOC. This subject is not going to go away for a
long time, and part of the "grieving process" that DXers are going through
is to comment. And yes, many of the comments are and will be repetitive.

I just mailed my membership. Glad to be here. I have to get back to the Home
now before they miss me.

73 and good DX
